What we are looking for • J.D. and active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California. • 2 to 5 years of civil litigation experience. Landlord-tenant or unlawful detainer experience is strongly preferred, but we will train a strong litigator who wants to learn this practice area. • Working knowledge of the LA RSO, local rent control frameworks, and AB 1482 is a significant plus. • Strong legal writing and oral advocacy, and the judgment to manage a large caseload independently. • Comfort in a fast-paced, deadline-driven practice where statutory clocks are always running. Compensation and benefits • $120,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on experience, plus performance-based incentives. • Health benefits and paid time off. • Direct mentorship from the firms managing attorney and a clear path to increased responsibility and advancement. To apply Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and we move quickly for the right candidate. SNS Law Group, LLP. is an equal opportunity employer. The salary range above is a good faith estimate provided in accordance with California Labor Code Section 432.3. Associate Attorney
HEMMING & ASSOCIATES PC Tustin, California
Job Description Job Description Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Attorney to join our team and represent consumers in actions brought by original creditors, debt buyers, and collection agencies involving credit card, medical, auto deficiency, personal loan, and similar obligations. The right candidate should be able to handle an existing litigation caseload from intake through resolution, with a focus on protecting client rights, challenging improper or unsubstantiated claims, and achieving cost effective outcomes. Responsibilities Represent individual consumers in state court in debt collection and related consumer actions, from filing or answering the complaint through trial or settlement. Review lawsuits, contracts, statements, account histories, and supporting documentation to evaluate liability, damages, and the validity and ownership of the alleged debt. Draft, file, and argue responsive pleadings (Answers, counterclaims, demurrers/motions to dismiss, motions to strike, motions for judgment on the pleadings) asserting appropriate defenses such as lack of standing, improper service, statute of limitations, and defective documentation. Prepare, propound, and respond to written discovery; take and defend depositions as needed; and seek evidentiary sanctions where creditor/collector discovery responses are inadequate. File and argue dispositive and pre trial motions, including summary judgment/summary adjudication and motions in limine. Negotiate settlements, payment plans, and stipulations to judgment that minimize client exposure, including reduction of principal, interest, and fees, and, where appropriate, debt waivers. Analyze potential violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and analogous state consumer protection statutes, and assert counterclaims or separate actions where warranted. Act as a buffer between clients and collectors by directing all creditor and collection agency communications through counsel and addressing harassment or unlawful collection practices. Advise clients on the legal and practical consequences of judgments, including wage garnishments, bank levies, liens, and post judgment enforcement, and, where appropriate, explore bankruptcy or other global resolution options. Where a default judgment already exists, evaluate service and procedural history and, when appropriate, prepare and argue motions to vacate or set aside judgment and negotiate post judgment resolutions. Maintain accurate, timely file notes, case plans, and calendar entries for all hearings, deadlines, and client communications. Collaborate with support staff on case intake, document collection, and file management; provide clear direction for paralegal and assistant tasks. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA accredited law school. Active license in good standing with the State Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where matters will be handled. Working knowledge of state civil procedure, evidence rules, and judgment enforcement procedures relevant to consumer debt litigation. Familiarity with federal and state consumer protection statutes, including FDCPA and FCRA, and willingness to develop deeper subject matter expertise. Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, including experience drafting motions and appearing at motion hearings, case management conferences, and trials. Preferred Experience and Skills 1+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably including consumer debt, collection defense, or related consumer protection work. Prior experience representing consumers in credit card, medical debt, auto deficiency, or debt buyer lawsuits. Experience identifying and litigating FDCPA/FCRA or state law collector violations, including bringing affirmative claims or counterclaims. Comfort with managing a volume caseload while maintaining high quality work product and client communication. Spanish or other second language skills in markets with high LEP client populations. Familiarity with case management systems and document automation tools used in consumer practices. Core Competencies Client centered counseling: Ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain language, set realistic expectations, and reduce client anxiety in the face of litigation and collection pressure. Family Law Attorney
DM Cantor Family Law Practice, PLLC Phoenix, Arizona
Description: Great family law attorneys deserve more than endless Zoom meetings and no meaningful support. Every family law firm says they "care about families," but if you've ever been stuck cleaning up chaotic disclosures, redrafting sloppy motions, and explaining to the 'senior attorney' what Drahos calculations are (again), you know that not every family law firm cares about their attorneys. At DM Cantor's Family Law Practice, we understand that you didn't go to law school, rack up debt, and spend countless hours honing your trial skills to push paper at a firm where no one is actually in the office and you're lucky if someone knows your name. You deserve high-stakes cases, a proactive and experienced support team, mentorship beyond "fingers crossed," and a career trajectory that doesn't end in someone else's shadow. We don't hire warm bodies; we only hire the attorneys who are "A players," and who actually practice law with legal acumen and grit. DM Cantor Family Law Practice is Arizona's leading trial-focused family law firm. We handle complex cases that demand creativity, tenacity, and profound legal knowledge. Our attorneys collaborate daily, combining expertise and insight to deliver the best outcomes for our clients. We prioritize results over ego, mentorship over hierarchy, and excellence over shortcuts. Our cases challenge us, our team supports one another relentlessly, and our wins are celebrated loudly. At DM Cantor Family Law Practice, your work will matter every single day. We want to read about you and why you want to join our firm. To be considered for an interview, you MUST: 1. Submit an up-to-date resume 2. Submit a cover letter. 3. Plus, once you initially apply, you will receive an email to complete a career history form, and a Prescreen Snapshot to fully fill out and submit.
