JOB TITLE: Director of Youth Ministry Church: Center Pointe Global Methodist Church 7641 Jackson Trail Road Hoschton, GA - JOB SUMMARY: The general responsibility of the Director of Youth Ministry will be to lead youth into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, into Christian maturity and to discipleship. This person seeks to help youth claim the gifts and resources God has placed within them, and to utilize those gifts and resources to benefit the life of the whole church, under the lordship of Jesus Christ. Primary Duties: - Coordinate educational program for youth grade 6 through grade 12 - The Director provides oversight and leadership for multiple youth ministry experiences on Sundays, Wednesdays and special occasions as needed. - Implement the coordination of youth activities such as retreats, youth camps, mission trips, concerts, youth participation in Sunday worship, Wednesday night activities and other activities that help youth grow in their faith and understanding of God in their lives - Support Vacation Bible School - Promote youth activities within the church through bulletins, newsletters, mailings, announcements, phone calls, twitter, Facebook, email and other communication tools in a timely manner; encourage the support of the youth program by the church family. - Be aware of the church and community calendars and be responsible for posting youth activities - Work with other youth leaders/servants as need to: - Implement ideas and activities - Share excitement - Encouragement and enthusiasm about youth ministry - Be sensitive to special needs of youth and their families, working together to encourage engagement - Work actively with other church youth groups and create a strong commitment to youth throughout community - Plan and implement regular meetings (minimum of quarterly) with other youth leaders/servants to make plans in coordination with church calendar for youth activities - Be responsible for submitting the Youth Ministries portion of the budget and overseeing expenses of the youth group - Coordinate fund raisers for youth events - Recruiting and coordinating adult volunteers, working cooperatively with the senior pastor, Personnel, and other members of the church staff. - Attend church on Sundays (non-paid) - Other activities/duties as required Office Management: Establishes and maintains accurate, orderly files. Tracks the progress of programs related to the department function, to include: n Loading statistics into a computer. n Reporting statistics on a regular basis to supervisor. Fiscal Administration: Requisitions, receives and distributes supplies and other related services. Responsible for maintenance of budget in Youth Ministries. Supervisory Responsibility: Responsible to oversee adult worker/servants and be contact person for those involved in all aspects of youth program. Minimum Qualifications: - To have a commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; be a role model and live a consistent Christian life that is sustained by prayer - Have a passion for youth and their families with a desire to help them grow in their Christian faith - Have an understanding of and commitment to the ministry of Center Pointe Global Methodist Church - Have a strong biblical background and understanding of Scripture with an emphasis on a Wesleyan understanding and interpretation - We are looking for a person with plenty of energy and love of kids for this vital position; who displays Christ-centered spiritual maturity, who is a self-starter, and who has a passion to connect with and lead youth. Supervision: This position reports directly to the Senior Pastor and the Youth Committee. Character: The Youth and Young Adult Pastor must have an active and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and uphold and live out Biblical principles and core values both in their personal life and in their professional life.
