Anderson Dahlen Description: PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION: The Manufacturing Engineer serves as the interface between Engineering and Production by developing and improving manufacturing plans within the ERP system. This role ensures BOMs and routings for parts and assemblies are complete, accurate, and supportive of Design for Manufacturability (DFM). This position may also lead cross-functional reviews, support higher-risk projects, improve manufacturing processes, and mentor less experienced engineers. Manufacturing Engineers operate in a team environment and provide consistent, standard-process travelers to Production. Requirements: MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Develop the production plan by entering BOMs and routings into the ERP system. Work with Project Managers, CAD Designers, Engineers, and Production to communicate clearly and effectively throughout the manufacturing process. Support welding, machining, finishing, and assembly activities for the design-build group while helping identify and address potential manufacturing issues. Provide information needed to reduce risk, minimize rework, and support successful project execution. Conduct or support cross-functional manufacturing reviews with Production and Project Management. Collaborate with Operations and other internal partners to evaluate manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Mentor Manufacturing Engineers and new hires at the senior level to strengthen good manufacturing practices. Demonstrate our safety culture aligned with company expectations. Travel occasionally to customer sites for installation support or issue resolution. Comply with Company and Department policies and procedures as applicable. Perform related work as apparent or assigned and other duties as needed. Detail-oriented with strong planning and monitoring skills. QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY: BS degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Machine Design, or related Engineering field with 1-5 years experiences in a manufacturing or fabrication environment; or an AAS degree in a Technical/Engineering field with 3-7 year's experience. Knowledge of ERP systems required, preferably Made to Manage. Ability to interpret engineering drawings required. Familiarity with 3D CAD software is a plus, preferably SolidWorks. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with welding, fabrication, forming, bending, and laser is a plus. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The company fosters a manufacturing-type environment. Job Description Job Description Position Summary The 3D Printing Operator is responsible for preparing, operating, and maintaining additive manufacturing equipment to produce high quality parts. This role involves managing print jobs from initial setup through post processing, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to engineering specifications. Report to the Engineering Manager Key Responsibilities 3D Printer Operation Set up and operate 3D printers (FDM/SLA/SLS/other technologies depending on the organization). Prepare build platforms, load materials, calibrate machines, and initiate print jobs. Monitor printing processes to ensure successful builds and troubleshoot issues as they arise. File & Model Preparation Import and prepare 3D CAD files (STL/OBJ) for printing using slicing software. Adjust print parameters (layer height, infill, supports, orientation) based on job requirements. Collaborate with engineers or designers to optimize models for printability. Post Processing Remove completed prints from build platforms safely and efficiently. Perform post processing tasks such as: Support removal Sanding, smoothing, or curing Vapor smoothing or media blasting (if applicable) Dyeing, painting, or finishing operations Inspect printed parts for dimensional accuracy and surface quality. Quality Control Measure and verify parts using calipers, micrometers, or other inspection tools. Document print results, defects, and recommended adjustments. Maintain a log of builds, material usage, and machine performance. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform routine maintenance on 3D printers, such as: Nozzle changes Bed leveling Resin vat cleaning Filter replacements Diagnose and resolve common print failures (warping, layer shifting, under extrusion, etc.). Material Handling Manage inventory of filaments, resins, powders, and consumables. Follow proper safety procedures for handling specialized or hazardous materials. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with engineers, designers, and production teams to meet project deadlines. Communicate print status, constraints, and recommendations for design adjustments. Required Qualifications Experience with at least one 3D printing technology (FDM/SLA/SLS/DMLS/etc.). Familiarity with slicing software (e.g., Cura, PrusaSlicer, PreForm, GrabCAD). Basic CAD knowledge (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar preferred). Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read technical drawings and interpret tolerances. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Manual dexterity for small part handling and assembly.

This position will include grinding, turning, and milling material to create the required parts and jigs. Will assist in the design of the parts and jigs in CAD software and/or will interpret blueprints from the organization's product designers. This position requires troubleshooting abilities of production issues, being able to drive root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Must be able to communicate effectively across all departments and platforms.
