We operate two state-of-the-art rotor wing aircraft and a fleet of critical care, and advanced life support ambulances. We are one of few rotor-wing aeromedical Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) capable flight programs in North Carolina. Our respiratory care practitioners with our Life Flight team transport pediatric, and neonatal patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide rapid access to health care for patients when time, specialized skills, and/or specialized resources are critical for survival. General Description of the Job Class Perform and evaluate diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures as defined in the Respiratory Care Services scope of clinical practice, performing work in accordance with physician orders in the neonatal, pediatric and adult patient populations. Duties and Responsibilities of this Level Perform all duties and responsibilities required of a Respiratory Care Practitioner I. Evaluate appropriateness of medical orders. Proficient in the application of mechanical ventilator modalities. Proficient in the application of Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NPPV); Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and Bi-Level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) Perform endotracheal intubation under the observation of a Supervisor or Advanced Practitioner. Perform extubations. Serve as member of the code/ emergency team. Administer medical gases. Insert nasogastric and orogastric tubes. Perform tracheotomy tube changes. Perform capnography monitoring. Transport patients requiring mechanical ventilation or airway protection. Interpret clinical data to optimize patient clinical objectives. Participate in clinical rounds with physicians, nurses and other health care providers Assist with Bronchoscopy. Assist with orientation and training of Level II RT. Assure safe operations of devices in the MRI. Qualified for certification in the hyperbaric chamber if applicable to the institution scope of practice Required Qualifications at this Level Education Completion of a two year AMA approved Respiratory Care Program - (Associates Degree or the equivalent). Must maintain annual skill maintenance and annual safety/compliance requirements Must maintain North Carolina annual license requirements for CEUs Experience A minimum of three years (preference of four years) experience in clinical respiratory therapy, including a minimum of one year in intensive care respiratory therapy within a neonatal or pediatric ICU. Key Responsibilities The Advanced Practice Provider will: Provide comprehensive overnight Trauma and Acute Care Surgery coverage Perform patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostics, and develop treatment plans Manage trauma and emergency general surgery patients across inpatient settings Assist trauma surgeons with procedures and ongoing patient management Practice autonomously while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams Document all patient care using Epic EMR Comply with medical staff bylaws, privileging standards, and clinical protocols Maintain high standards for patient safety, quality, and performance Participate in mentorship, leadership development, and continuing education programs Candidate Requirements Required Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice program with one of the following: Nurse Practitioner: Master s degree in Nursing Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited PA program Board Certification: NP: ANCC or AANPCB PA: NCCPA Unrestricted Colorado license (NP or PA, as applicable) Assistance with obtaining a Colorado license is available for qualified candidates Eligible for DEA and Medicare/Medicaid provider enrollment BLS certification (no exemptions) No sanctions or exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA Eligible to complete full credentialing prior to start Experience Minimum 2 years of Trauma Surgery experience OR Completion of a surgical fellowship (highly preferred) Fresh graduates will not be considered Additional Notes Clean malpractice and license history highly preferred Visa sponsorship not available (No J-1 or H-1B) Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $136,822 $179,379 (based on experience) Quality Value Incentive Plan: Up to $10,000 annually Relocation Bonus: Up to $10,000 (eligible candidates) Malpractice Insurance: Fully covered CME: Up to $3,500 annually + 5 CME days Retirement: 403(b) with employer match + optional 457(b) Insurance: Medical, dental, vision, life Disability Coverage: Employer-paid short-term disability (up to 66.67% of base pay) Employer-provided long-term disability with optional buy-up Paid Time Off: Begins at start of employment Paid Family & Medical Leave: Includes Colorado FAMLI Education Benefits: Select degree programs covered 100% Up to $5,250/year for approved programs Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligible Additional voluntary benefits including FSA, HSA, pet insurance, identity protection, and employee discount programs Submission Requirements (Agency Candidates) ALL items below must be confirmed and noted prior to client presentation: NP or PA program graduation verification Board certification (ANCC/AANPCB or NCCPA) Colorado APP license or documented plan/timeline for licensure DEA and Medicare/Medicaid eligibility BLS certification (must be noted) Trauma surgery experience (2 years) or surgical fellowship Clean malpractice/license history (preferred) No HHS/OIG or GSA exclusions Permanent Placement Fee: $18,000 (must be noted) Confirmation that candidate has NOT applied directly to this position By submitting a candidate, you acknowledge they have not applied directly.
