What You ll Do Surgical & Inpatient Support First assist in cardiothoracic procedures, including open-heart surgeries Participate in vessel harvesting and advanced operative techniques Provide perioperative care, including patient evaluation and surgical preparation Assist in managing critically ill patients in surgical and inpatient settings Clinical Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients within scope of practice Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging Prescribe medications and implement treatment plans Collaborate with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes Team Leadership & Collaboration Serve as a resource and mentor to fellow PAs and clinical staff Support care coordination across surgical, inpatient, and outpatient settings Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams Qualifications Education & Certification Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (Master s preferred) Current Physician Assistant certification (NCCPA) Active and unrestricted state PA license Current DEA registration Required Skills & Experience Recent experience in an operating room setting Cardiothoracic surgery first assist experience strongly preferred Vessel harvesting experience is a plus Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities Additional Requirements Current BLS and ACLS certifications Completion of infection control certification (as required) Familiarity with electronic medical records (Epic experience preferred) Proficiency with basic computer applications Work Environment & Schedule Fast-paced clinical and surgical setting Mix of inpatient, OR, and potential outpatient responsibilities Rotating schedule including days, nights, and extended shifts Why Join This Team?
