This role shares responsibility of cleanliness and pet health and safety standards. Essential Responsibilities Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following and may vary depending on store characteristics and needs: Independently performs full menu of bath, brush and grooming services and standalone services, such as nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services in accordance with PetSmart's bathing standards and procedures. Recommends additional health and wellness solutions with pet parents based on pet's needs. Responsible for the pet parent experience and outcomes conducted in person, over the phone and at the sales register. Greets pet parents, answers their questions and assists with making reservations in the salon. Conducts salon appointment reminder calls, maintains client records and consults with pet parents on services offered. Performs check-in and check-out procedures for grooming appointments, including applicable paperwork and rebooking. Promotes opportunities to grow salon sales to help achieve sales targets and productivity, and any other relevant salon metrics. Recommends, informs, and sells merchandise and services. Maintains the highest level of cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions for all pets in the grooming area, by performing maintenance throughout the day including end of day cleaning in accordance with the maintenance checklist. Responsible for taking immediate action when a sick/injured pet is identified in the store; transport to the vet as needed. Assists and works in other departments as required. Qualifications Prior grooming experience; or 6 months of experience in the Stylist in Training job with Successful completion of PetSmart's Salon Academy training and safety certification. program or passes the salon technical evaluation. Proficiency in computer applications. Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure. Flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures Strong written and verbal communication skills. Essential physical demands and work environment Associate required to stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write, etc. The associate frequently is required to reach with hands and arms: stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear. As a Licensed Hair Stylist at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you will be responsible for providing guests with professional hair and makeup services at Tenaya Stone Spa. This includes consultations in the art of makeup application and professional cuts, styles, and therapeutic treatments for hair. Responsibilities : Provide consistent professional hair and makeup services in accordance with Tenaya Stone Spa protocols and accepted certification practices Ability to effectively perform all spa treatments and services as defined by the position being performed Broad understanding of color symmetry/coordination and understand the use and effects of different textures (frost, shimmer, etc.) Must have the ability to create an image for the guest's needs/social event using different makeup colors, textures and application techniques Must possess a technical understanding of product ingredients to avoid allergic reactions Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of products to be cost effective Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and Tenaya Stone Spa policies and procedures Perform prep work and properly clean and restock room as required Actively promote spa, treatments, services, sessions, and retail as well as programs and promotions Handle guests' questions and concerns professionally and courteously Provide accurate and immediate responses to all requests by guests ensuring complete guest satisfaction Attend mandatory training to maintain knowledge of current spa policies, procedures and trends Must be able to perform all hair/makeup services offered by Tenaya Stone Spa Basic Qualifications : You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role Previous experience in a Spa or Hotel environment Ability to handle difficult/sensitive situations independently, while confidently utilizing service recovery methods Must currently hold and maintain state Cosmetologist or Barber license with state of California Excellent communication and listening skills Ability to complete tasks independently Spiel memorization and delivery Knowledgeable about The Disneyland Resort and surrounding area Preferred Qualifications: Basic computer knowledge Additional Information : SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; Shifts may start as early as 6:00 AM, while some may end as late as 10:00 PM.
