Position Summary The Senior Estimator plays a critical leadership role in the preconstruction process, responsible for developing detailed, competitive estimates for mechanical scopes including HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems in commercial and industrial construction projects. This role collaborates closely with clients, design teams, project managers, and executive leadership to develop accurate budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support successful project procurement. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation of conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and competitive bids for commercial mechanical projects. Perform material takeoffs, equipment pricing, and labor calculations for HVAC, plumbing, and piping scopes. Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. Identify risks, inconsistencies, and value engineering options during the preconstruction phase. Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field leadership during pre-bid planning and turnover. Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and scope review sessions. Assist in the development and refinement of estimating tools, databases, and processes. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and support staff. Qualifications 7+ years of mechanical estimating experience in commercial construction (HVAC, plumbing, piping). Deep understanding of construction means and methods, labor productivity, and material costs. Proficient in estimating software such as Trimble Accubid, QuoteSoft, FastPIPE, or similar tools. Strong blueprint reading and specification interpretation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and PDF markup tools. Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills. SUMMARY This Senior Project Manager is responsible for mentoring, training, coaching and developing the Field Project Managers. This Manager may also be responsible for managing their own projects. This gives them opportunity to have new, less experienced FPMs shadow them. The Manager will host weekly check-ins with their team junior FPMs. They will attend all pre-order meetings hosted by their junior FPM's and or their team and will host bi-weekly check in meetings with the whole team from that office including but not limited to PCs, PE's, Compliance personnel, install, warehousing to review the active projects current "look ahead". The Field Project Manager will work in conjunction with the VP of Construction in updating practices, policies and procedures. They will assist in implementing new tech and software as well. Travel is required for this position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Required: College degree combined with 1-3 years of experience as a field project manager in the foodservice equipment installation industry or similar construction industry. Ability to clearly read and comprehend floor plans, equipment manuals, schematics, and complex instructions. Understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations. Must be able to work in office and construction field environments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Primary responsibility is overseeing and managing projects from start to completion. Ensure all projects are recorded and managed according to specifications. Responsible to select and manage all subcontractors performing work under contract Responsible to coordinate interfacing work with associated trades Responsible to request schedule/critical time path from client and contractors Required to review plans and documents creating pinklines, RFIs and internal questions for the project team in preparation for the pre-order meeting. Schedule pre-order meetings, inclusive of CSR, estimator, project coordinator and Drafter (If applicable). Responsible to notify estimating, installation and delivery of project date changes after PO's are issued. Responsible for field verifications involving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing to the following: MEPs Hoods/ Demand Aire/ MUA Walk-In: D. Stainless Fabrication, Sneezeguards, and Millwork where applicable. Ensure all drawings and cut sheets are up to date in system (One Note & Plangrid) and shared with install team. Responsible to coordinate timing, receiving protocol, and customer representative on site to sign for each delivery. Responsible to ensure scope completion, punch list and quality control Responsible to notify the project team when health final inspection passes to trigger reconcile project. Responsible for the financial and timely success of projects. Training requires Multiple field visits to job sites as needed. Training PMs in the art of RFIs- Writing Request for Information (RFI). Responsible for teaching and using Plangrid, Bluebeam, One Note and Smartsheets Imperative to use correct grammar and sentence structures in communications with clients and team members. Regulating PM's attendance as required for site coordination meetings on all projects. Managing Attendance required- internal team meetings bi-weekly. Managing Attendance in manager check-ins as required and requested by managers. All other duties as assigned.
