SHIFT: SWING SHIFT WHICH ROTATES BIWEEKLY What this job involves: As an Operating Engineer, you'll play a critical role in keeping our facilities running at peak performance. This position centers on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across all building systems. What your day-to-day will look like: Operate, maintain, and repair Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems to keep all facility and building systems performing to applicable standards Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and associated equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to maintain optimum performance levels Record equipment readings and system parameters, making necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation and identifying potential issues before they escalate Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors to ensure standards are met and costs remain competitive Maintain responsibility for facility services, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance coordination, and general maintenance tasks Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory to ensure all equipment is available, properly maintained, and ready for use Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems, including ballast replacement throughout the facility Perform maintenance and repairs on plumbing fixtures including toilets, urinals, and hand wash stations, and operate drain cleaning augers to resolve blockages Comply with departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workplace at all times Required qualifications: 6-8 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems Ability to analyze the operation of various industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems, determine the cause of problems or malfunctions, and take corrective action Working knowledge of CMMS (i.e. Corrigo) High school diploma or GED equivalent Physical ability to bend, sit, kneel, squat, stand, reach, and lay as required to access equipment components for extended periods of time Ability to work exposed to varying environmental conditions including heat, sunlight, rain, cold, and both daylight and nighttime hours Preferred qualifications: EPA 608 Type II Certification or higher for refrigerant handling Additional EPA certifications (Universal certification preferred) Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) Trade certifications or technical school training in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing disciplines Experience working in mission-critical facilities or environments requiring 24/7 operations This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Level Commissioning Engineer to support the development and implementation of all aspects of the Commissioning Program for leased/owned data centers. This role, with an expert-level focus on the mechanical discipline of Commissioning, will serve as the primary liaison between Senior Engineers, Principal Engineers, Senior Managers, and Directors across the AWS team and external Commissioning Vendors. As a leader in the Data Center Capacity Delivery (DCCD) organization, you will research, develop, and ensure meticulous and timely delivery of our Data Centers. Senior Commissioning Engineers are hands-on, producing both detailed technical work and high-level program designs and process frameworks. They will aid in establishing testing methodologies, drive standardization, and increase quality across all AWS building sites. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in commissioning, program development and sustainment, and cross-functional collaboration. They must have a proven record of leading commissioning programs on large-scale critical infrastructure deployments, including Quality Control (QC), Startup, Functional Performance Testing (FPT), Integrated System Testing (IST), and cost- and schedule-mitigating measures. This position requires excellence in a fast-paced environment and the ability to manage concurrent responsibilities while supporting parallel initiatives. Essential Job Responsibilities: New Patent Support Activities: • Work with key stakeholders in the organization to determine whether technology and inventions within each product line have commercial applications and recommend whether intellectual property protection should be sought. • Foster and encourage DPC's inventors to produce invention disclosures and other supporting documentation when the opportunity arises and guide patenting decisions. • Initiate and manage patentability, right to use, and state of the art patent searches. • Liaise with outside counsel to prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications and perform patent utilization and right-to-use analyses. Seek IP protection in key countries of focus for the business. • Track progress and organize information pertaining to DPC's IP portfolio of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. • Identify, prompt decisions for, and notify outside agencies of patent prosecution decisions • Develop and manage trade secret identification and protection strategies New and Existing Trademark and Copyright Management: • Engage and liaise with marketing team to determine branding strategies including name clearances and filing strategies. • Facilitate brand name clearance searches and support trademarking legal needs. • Consult decision makers and execute trademark decisions. • File copyright registrations as needed.
