Provides specialized care for patients requiring a higher level of monitoring and clinical support than a general medical-surgical unit, but not the full intensity of an Intensive Care Unit. This unit serves as a critical bridge between patients with complex medical conditions and surgical needs. Qualifications: Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
