Knowledge of Safety Practices and DOT Regulations. Knowledge of an automated Fleet Management Information System (Manager+) Strong attention to detail. Position Summary: We are actively looking for a Lead Router and CNC Technician for our growing production team. Ideal candidates are eager to learn, grow and craft beautiful signs for our customers. The Lead Router and CNC Technician role is an integral part of our fabrication team. Responsible for programming and operating a variety of CNC equipment, this role also is responsible for ensuring materials are prepared and available for upcoming jobs and consumables are stocked for the equipment in the CNC/Routing department. This role will work closely with the Director of Manufacturing to prioritize and schedule department workflow while actively operating machines and assisting in the fabrication of all types of signs. The role also involves applying general technical skills to day-to-day projects while reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics to ensure project components are manufactured according to approved designs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Accurately prepare and program artwork for CNC Routers, channel letter bending machine, and vinyl plotter Participate in the production of custom designed signs Inventory material supply and place supply orders with Company Purchaser Attend required weekly and monthly meetings Load and operate the CNC table Change out equipment parts (bits etc.) Oversee equipment, watching for malfunction and job completion Quickly and effectively correct equipment malfunctions and report any concerns to Management Review job packets for accuracy and understand the scope of work including time expectations and material requirements Accurately match work order descriptions to design drawings before beginning production Fully inspect equipment prior to each use Maintain work area for efficiency, cleanliness and to meet Company safety standards. Participate in daily and weekly shop cleaning and maintenance Inspect deliveries for accuracy, verify contents for quantity and condition, Report discrepancies and/or damage immediately Report material usage and production time for each work order Follow all company safety standards including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Perform additional responsibilities as requested. Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Minimum 2 years' experience operating CNC router tables with both metals and plastics Vinyl experience (preparing, cutting, laying) is a plus Solid organizational skills; able to multi-task and complete requests in a timely and professional manner. Resourceful; can devise creative solutions to problems. Proper use of hand and power tools. Read and write English. Reading Comprehension-Understanding written sentences and design artwork in work-related documents. Critical Thinking-Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Time Management-Managing one's own time and reporting accurately. Attend monthly safety training meetings. Obtain and maintain forklift and other internal certifications Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and move about the shop. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 80 pounds. Must be able to safely use a ladder.
