Riverside Methodist Hospital, the 13th busiest Cath Lab in the country and top busiest PCI center in the state of Ohio, is hiring for a full-time Cath Lab Radiology Technologist. The hours for this position are 7:00a-5:30p (four 10-hour shifts/week) with rotation into nights and weekends. Weekday and weekend on-call is mandatory; weekend call varies approximately 6-10 weekends/year. The required response time is 30 minutes, no exceptions. The Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventional Cardiologist for diagnostic and interventional procedures in roles that include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating. The technologist must have knowledge of the X-ray equipment in use, hemodynamic monitoring, coronary and peripheral anatomy, and sterile technique. Responsibilities And Duties: 85% Radiologic technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventionalist in specific area as described above in summary for each area. 10% Greets patients upon arrival to department. Checks chart for required data (i.e., informed consent). Reports absences or abnormalities to RN/physician. Explains procedures, gives instructions, and answers patients' questions. Participates in room turnover and transporting of patients. (5%) Assists Radiation Safety officer in QA of labs and radiation protective apparel on regular basis. Performs tasks using radiation safety principles; checks lead aprons for tears; reports findings and removes inadequate gear from service; maintains accurate records or work with Radiology department to maintain records. RN Circulator / Registered Nurse Circulator Either Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology LAB, or Interventional Radiology, or General OR experience preferred. Applicants MUST have a valid driver s license and access to an operating vehicle. MUST be willing to travel throughout the week to our various locations (Germantown, Senatobia, Memphis, and West Memphis). Permanent and full-time, direct hire. Job Description Registered Nurse to care for our patients in the intra-operative setting. The RN Circulator is responsible for managing all nursing care within the procedure room. This includes assisting in preparing the patient, communicating with the surgical team, and ensuring a safe, sterile environment. The Circulating Nurse is not scrubbed in but rather acts as the advocate and liaison for the patient throughout the procedure. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care with little supervision. You must be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. There is abundance of opportunity for professional development and upward growth within our organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Monitor patient s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice Observe and interpret patient s symptoms and communicate them to physicians Collaborate with physicians and intra-operative team to devise individualized care plans for patients Monitor and document the surgical procedure Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and other departments Maintain sterile technique and respond to needs of the surgical tech and surgeons Handle surgical counts (sponges, needles, instruments) Assist with patient transfer to recovery or PACU Document operative record and hand off to recovery nurse Participate in debriefing and turnover processes between surgeries Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients charts Adjust and administer patient s medication and provide treatments according to physician s orders Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.) Provide instant medical care in emergencies Assist surgeons during operations Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences etc. Skills and Qualifications: Valid Nursing License Required BLS/ACLS REQUIRED Minimum 1 year of cath-lab, electrophysiology lab, or perioperative nursing experience preferred In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Responsible and compassionate APPLY NOW!
