CRNA Locum Tenens (6+ Month Government Contract)

Position: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
Employment Type: Locum Tenens 1099
Start Date: December 1, 2025
Contract Length: 6+ months (renewable)
Location: Shiprock, NM
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
Beds: 60 inpatient beds, 4 ICU beds

Coverage & Schedule

Coverage Type: Scheduled hours + required call
Scheduled Hours: Monday Friday, 7a 3:30p (non-holidays)
Call Coverage:

  • Weeknights: 3:30p 7a

  • Weekends: Fri 3:30p Mon 7a

  • Holidays: 7a 7a next day
    Call Pay: All on-call hours paid at the same rate (no OT differential)
    Overtime: Paid at regular hourly rate as needed
    Credentialing Timeframe: days

Work Details

Practice Setting: Hospital (IHS facility government site)
Supervision: Under Chief of Anesthesia or designee
Case Types:
Endoscopy, OB ( deliveries/year), pediatric dental (nasal intubation), general surgery, trauma/emergency cases
Excluded: Cardiac, neuro, and neonates
Responsibilities:

  • Provide anesthesia care for surgical and emergency cases

  • Collaborate with surgical/anesthesia staff on patient care

  • Complete all EHR documentation before end of shift (Cerner-based system)
    Quality Oversight: Subject to IHS quality assurance program

Requirements

Board Certification: Required (NBCRNA)
License: Any U.S. state license accepted
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS (mandatory)
Experience: Proven competency in general anesthesia; clean background required
Vaccinations:

  • MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Td (within 5 yrs), TB test (past 12 mos)

  • COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required
