Position Title: Tool and Die Designer Company: Premier Pan Location: Glenwillard, PA 15046 Shift: First (8 hours) Job Summary:
A Tool and Die Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes. This role ensures precision, efficiency, and quality in production by creating detailed designs that meet engineering and production requirements. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design tools, dies, molds, and fixtures using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Interpret product drawings, specifications, and blueprints to determine tooling requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize designs for manufacturability.
  • Modify and improve existing tooling to enhance performance, reduce costs, or fix defects.
  • Create detailed technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing.
  • Select appropriate materials and components for tooling applications.
  • Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Support tool testing, troubleshooting, and implementation on the production floor.
  • Work with machinists and toolmakers during fabrication and assembly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and precision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in tool and die design within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with simulation software and tooling analysis.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
Work Environment:
  • Combination of office (design work) and manufacturing floor exposure.
  • May require collaboration with cross-functional teams and occasional overtime to meet production deadlines.
Salary Range:
  • minimum $75,000 annually depending on experience and education
