Seeking a Pre-Litigation Legal Assistant

Are you a self-motivated person who prefers to work with minimal supervision? Do you want to help injured people achieve the justice they deserve?

This is a full-time job where you are expected to manage a caseload, so you absolutely must be able to work in the office for 40 hours per week. During the first 90 days of employment, the pay starts at $25/hour, depending on experience, with opportunities for an increase after that. After successful completion of the 90-day probation period, health insurance and a retirement plan will be offered.

We need a Pre-Litigation Legal Assistant with experience in Personal Injury, specifically pre-litigation, as well as dealing with clients, insurance companies, and negotiating. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand-holding.

This position will be responsible for important work, including, but not limited to:

• Handling a case from sign-up to settlement
• Writing letters and emails
• Answering phones
• Handling initial intakes of potential clients
• Meeting with clients
• Organizing files
• Opening claims with insurance companies
• Scheduling
• Requesting medical records and bills
• Negotiating settlements
• Preparing demand letters
• Scanning and copying documents
• Signing up new clients
• Data entry into the case management system
• Filing
• Reading emails, faxes, and mail
