Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work locum shifts in Atlantic City, New Jersey (NJ). Starting in May 2026, the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits.
The Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant role:
Need: Fulltime (May- Oct 2026)
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a)
Call: Some weeks may include night and/or weekend calls
Trauma: Level II
Responsibilities: Trauma alerts and surgical consultations, Admitting, rounding, and OR support for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, facilitating discharges, ER admissions, and house codes/rapid response team, Insertion of: Ventilation management, Chest Tube, Central Line, Arterial Line, PICC Line, Minor laceration suturing and Non-invasive ventilatory support (BiPAP/CPAP)
Requirements of the Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant role:
New Jersey state license; active, unrestricted
BLS, ACLS, ATLS
Experience with Ventilation Management, Chest Tube, Central Line, Arterial Line, PICC Line, Non-Invasive Vent Management (BiPAP/CPAP), and Minor Laceration Suturing 25
