Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Pain Center
Department: Outpatient Pain Management Clinic
Schedule: Full-time, daytime hours
Category: Nursing (specialized in pain management/clinical procedures)
What Will They Do:
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including:
- Patient assessment
- Developing and implementing care plans
- Assisting in medical procedures (especially pain interventions)
- Evaluating patient progress and adjusting care as needed
- Perform clinical tasks, such as:
- Administer medications or injections
- Assist with minor surgical or procedural pain treatments
- Monitor vitals
- Educate patients on pain management and follow-up care
Additional Tasks May Include:
- Sterile technique tasks:
- Gowning and gloving
- Retraction and limb holding during procedures
- Assisting with patient positioning
- Assisting with operating room (OR) setup and cleanup
- Lab-related tasks:
- Drawing blood or preparing lab specimens (if at community clinics)
- On-call responsibilities:
- Be available for call shifts as needed
- Carry a pager
Certifications Required (some may be obtained during orientation):
- RN License (ND or Compact state)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Point-of-care certifications specific to department procedures
