March 16, 2026 Visa sponsorship is not available for this position Position: Energy Analyst/Project Engineer Taitem Engineering has an opportunity for a Sustainability Consultant or an Energy Analyst with 3-5 years of experience to join its Energy + Sustainability Department. The successful candidate will focus on a variety of projects relating to Measurement & Verification of energy retrofits, testing of new products in existing buildings, and construction of new high-performance buildings. The successful candidate must, however, be able to meet with project stakeholders and conduct site visits and inspections at project sites in the Ithaca, New York area and at other locations in New York. Responsibilities may include: Focus on Measurement & Verification work Consult with clients and building owners and develop M&V plans based on client goals and budget. Select and purchase monitoring equipment that meets the goals and budget set out in the M&V plan. Coordinate site visits with clients, building owners, apartment residents, internal staff, and subcontractors. Install monitoring equipment in subject locations including apartments, mechanical rooms, roof tops, and outdoor locations. Perform functional performance testing of subject HVAC equipment installed in occupied buildings Conduct activities with respect and sensitivity for resident living spaces and maintain good working relationships with all project partners. Manage and confirm validity of large sets of data. Manipulate data, including with statistical analysis, to help answer questions set forth by the client in the M&V plan. Use information gained from site visits to help interpret and explain patterns in data analysis. Review of baseline conditions, ECM savings, calculations, work scopes, capital cost estimates, and operating parameters Confirm technical viability of proposed energy conservation measures Advise developer and design teams on best practices for electrification, decarbonization and energy efficiency Maintain effective communication with clients and internal project teams. Perform project work, including site visits, inspections, report writing, spreadsheet and data analysis Required Skills and Knowledge: Familiarity with data logging equipment and building automation systems Management of large datasets and statistical analysis Familiarity with basic hand tools and construction methods Familiarity with electrical power systems and code requirements Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications Familiarity with HVAC equipment, including heat pumps Knowledge of building energy systems and building science, specifically in multifamily buildings Great social skills and ability to communicate with people from all walks of life Solid understanding of the building construction process and NYS codes Impeccable attention to detail Proficiency in MS Windows and Office, particularly Excel Optional Certifications: Building-energy-related certification, such as CEM, BPI, CPHC, HERS Rater Compensation: The recruiting range for this position is between $70,000/yr and $90,000/yr depending on the skills and experience of the applicant. This is a full-time (40 hrs/week), benefits-eligible position.
