We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to become a vital member of our innovative cardiac surgery team. With a commitment to world-class cardiothoracic care, you will provide advanced clinical services within a supportive, patient-centered environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced clinical care for cardiothoracic surgery patients with a focus on compassionate care.
- Assist in cardiac surgeries, including performing endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting as needed.
- Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgical patient care, including rounding and evaluations.
- Participate in two full-day clinics weekly and see additional patients as required.
- Rotate through operating room coverage Monday through Friday.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement care plans based on patient outcomes.
- Order medications and write prescriptions adhering to regulatory policies.
- Perform bedside procedures appropriate to the patient population.
- Document all care delivered in a timely and high-quality manner.
- Exhibit expert clinical judgment and function independently under physician supervision.
- Maintain continuing medical education to meet state and national requirements.
- Adapt and thrive in a high-stress, dynamic clinical setting.
- Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and a positive cultural fit.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master s degree in Nursing.
- Nurse Practitioner Certification by ANCC or AANPCB.
- A minimum of 3+ years of cardiac or cardiovascular surgery experience with ICU management or endoscopic vein harvesting.
- Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license to prescribe medications.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- No current or prior sanctions or exclusions from relevant agencies.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Current COVID vaccination.
- Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
