Seeking a board-certified physician to provide inpatient and emergency department coverage as the sole on-site provider. This role includes managing ED patients, caring for Med/Surg inpatients, and overseeing skilled care, supported by a small clinical team. The position requires comfort working independently in a rural hospital environment with low patient volumes and broad clinical responsibilities.

Setting: Inpatient + Emergency Department (no outreach, no telehealth)
Function as the sole provider covering both the Emergency Department and Med/Surg inpatient unit.
Provide emergency care, inpatient management, and skilled care services.
Work alongside 2 physicians, 1 APP, 2 RNs, and 1 paramedic (plus occasional CNA/NPN support).
No APP supervision required.
Use EPIC EMR for documentation.
Access to on-site medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy.
Utilize 2 exam rooms per provider.
Typical volumes:
ED: 3.6 patients per day
Med/Surg census: 1.4 patients per day
Travel reimbursement available with caps for flights, lodging, rental car, and mileage.
Board Certified required
Active Iowa medical license (IA) required
DEA and CSR required
Ability to function autonomously as the sole provider in ED and inpatient settings
Experience in emergency and inpatient medicine
Strong clinical decision-making and comfort in low-volume, rural hospital practice
