ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Board-Certified Neurosurgeon to provide 24-hour primary call coverage at a Level I Trauma Center beginning March 2026, with ongoing coverage starting May/June 2026. This full-time (1.0 FTE) role requires proficiency in general neurosurgery, trauma, and spine procedures, supporting 24/7/365 primary call needs. Coverage is needed due to provider vacancies and required time off.

Schedule:
24-hour call shifts (7a 7a)
Includes 8 gratis hours per 24-hour period
Average Callback Hours: 8.9 hours
Practice Setting:
Inpatient, Level I Trauma Center
Call-only coverage
No support staff
Clinical Duties:
Provide 24-hour primary neurosurgery call coverage
Manage trauma, spine, and general neurosurgery cases
Provide ICU management for severely traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients
Participate in patient rounding (no refusal to join PAs for rounds)
Treat brain tumors and complex neurosurgical cases
Required Procedures & Experience:
Level I Trauma Center experience within the past year
Placement of external ventricular drains (EVD)
Placement of intracranial pressure monitoring bolts
CLEM procedures
Craniectomy and craniotomy
Spine surgery
Intensive care unit management of severe TBI patients
EMR System:
Epic
EMR & Onboarding Requirements:
Pre-application and full application required within 72 hours
Completion of EMR modules prior to virtual training
Virtual EMR training must be completed at least one week before start date
AD account creation may take up to 5 days
Provider must submit Epic experience details, contact information, time zone, and badge photo
All EMR training must be completed before first-day details are released
Credentialing:
Timeline: days
Emergency temporary privileges available
Self-query NPDB report (dated within 30 days) required at submission
Active CO license or IMLC required to release pre-application
DEA must be transferable and maintained for the duration of the assignment
Required:
Board Certified in Neurological Surgery
Active Colorado License or IMLC (LOQ in hand at submission)
Level I Trauma experience within the past year
Ability to perform all listed required procedures
Completion of EMR training requirements as outlined
Agreement to stay at preferred lodging
Availability for specified March dates
Disclosure of ongoing shift availability
Self-Query NPDB report (within 30 days of submission)
