Gastroenterology Physician Requirements
- Board Certification: Required (Board Eligible considered)
- Licensure: Active Michigan medical license required at submission
- DEA: Verbal confirmation required at name clear
- ACLS: Required
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years post-fellowship gastroenterology experience
- Procedure Requirement: ERCP required
- Credentialing: Clean background with no actions required (minimum malpractice acceptable)
- Additional: COVID vaccine required
Responsibilities
- Provide hospital-based gastroenterology coverage, including endoscopy and inpatient GI consults during scheduled hours (7:00 AM-4:30 PM)
- Perform GI procedures with a strong emphasis on ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
- Support endoscopy coverage for a high-volume schedule (outpatient and inpatient scopes as needed)
- Provide 24-hour weekend call coverage (weekends only; no weeknight call)
- Document care in Cerner EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing, and ancillary services to support daily operations and patient flow
