JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Shreveport, LA Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: 03/01/2026 Ongoing COVERAGE DATES Start date: March 1, 2026 Ongoing coverage needed PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatrics Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 46,000 annual ED visits Admissions: As clinically indicated Rounding: Included Phone Consults: As required Case Mix: Emergency Medicine, Trauma, Medical and Surgical Emergencies FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 576 hospital beds Office Equipment Available: Standard emergency department equipment Specialty Backup Available: Full hospital specialty support including cardiology, surgery, oncology, and transplant services Support Staff Available: Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Scribes Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Interview Required: Medical Director interview required COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered Rate: $300-$325/hr REQUIRED PROCEDURES Emergency stabilization and resuscitation Trauma evaluation and management Advanced airway management JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Louisiana medical license required; license must be clean with no prior actions Board: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine; ABEM required DEA: Active DEA with Louisiana address required Certifications: ACLS required; PALS required if not Board Certified in EM Experience: Residency trained in Emergency Medicine Other Qualifications: CME and case logs from past 2 years required; complete credentialing documentation required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to adult and pediatric patients Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and emergent conditions Collaborate with advanced practice providers and spec
