Locum Orthopedic Surgeon (24/7 Coverage)
St. Elizabeth Community Hospital, a small rural community hospital with a Level III Trauma Center in Red Bluff, California, is seeking a Locum Orthopedic Surgeon to provide continuous emergency department and inpatient consultation coverage.
Assignment Details
Coverage Dates: February (ending the morning of February 16)
Practice Setting: Community hospital, inpatient and ED consults
Facility Size: 72 licensed beds
Coverage Model: 24/7 orthopedic coverage
FTE: 1
Reason for Coverage: Short-term coverage need
Clinical Responsibilities
Full general orthopedic coverage
ED and inpatient orthopedic consultations
Higher-acuity cases are transferred to a higher-level facility to the north
Facility & Resources
Trauma Designation: Level III
EMR: Cerner
Support Staff: Operating Room staff available
Candidate Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency
Active state medical license
CA fluoroscopy certificate required by dates of coverage
DEA required during credentialing
Must be actively practicing at a facility (not newly out of residency without current clinical activity)
Clean malpractice and NPDB history (no negative credentialing issues)
Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation
Availability must be confirmed at time of name clear

Credentialing with other facilities not required

Travel requires flying into Sacramento International Airport with a drive to Red Bluff
