Physician / Gastroenterology / California / Permanent / San Diego GI Positions?
Pacific Companies, Inc. Aliso Viejo, California
Independent doctors in San Diego are becoming a thing of the past. Unless you are with Kaiser, Sharp or Scripps, it may be difficult to sustain a reasonable practice. Even if you are with those health systems, you may be struggling to build a practice due to the oversupply of GIs in the region. As you know, it takes approximately 40K patient lives to support one GI, and in San Diego, I suspect we have at least one GI for every 10K-15K patient lives. Prior to accepting a position in San Diego, ask yourself the following:How busy will you really be? Will you be able to support your life style? Will you be able to afford a reasonable home based on the income you earn? Will you be able to enroll your children in private schools? Will you be able to travel with your family? If you cant get clear answers to all of the above, consider the following option:General GI with/without ERCP. Group practice/shared call. Endoscopy center ancillary revenue opportunity. Described by some as a young Irvine, we offer some of the most affordable homes in all of southern California. It is all right here without the intensity of the traffic, competition and the cost of housing, all which get worse every year. We can offer you hiking, mountain biking, wineries, championship golf courses and the beaches of San Diego all within a tight circle of one hour or less. When you live here, you can spend your evenings in the local mountains, having dinner in the pines, listening to world class Jazz, and the next morning drive down to San Diegos Balboa Park in 45 minutes or surf the beaches of Encinitas. We have one of the top 10 bass fishing facilities in the country. You have these options, as well as Costco, Trader Joes, Macys and Nordstrom Rack. This is probably the most affordable little oasis going right now in all of southern California. Most doctors starting out their career, or in practice looking to get into the greater southern California market, can afford to live here, but cant afford to live in San Diego proper. Review the facts below:Home prices- San Diego / This Community1800 sf $799K $485K4100 sf $1.6 Million $1,054,000Our starting salaries are on par with southern California, and our affordability and access to all that southern California has to offer, is as good, or better than the hard to afford areas.
