Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and major repairs on heavy equipment including front loaders, roll-off trucks, excavators, bulldozers, compactors, wheel loaders, skid steers, and landfill-specific equipment. Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, and after-treatment systems (DEF, DPF, SCR). Conduct welding, cutting, and light fabrication to repair frames, buckets, blades, and structural components as needed. Complete scheduled PM services and identify equipment deficiencies before failures occur. Operational & Field Support Respond to breakdowns both in-shop and in the field (including landfills, transfer stations, or MRF operations). Communicate effectively with equipment operators and supervisors regarding repair needs and equipment performance. Maintain accurate documentation of all inspections, repairs, and parts usage using CMMS or maintenance tracking software. Assist with equipment setup, adjustments, and performance testing after repairs. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety guidelines, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA regulations. Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and equipment is returned to safe working condition. Report any unsafe conditions, near misses, or equipment defects that could pose operational risks. Qualifications Required 2-5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, diesel technician, or similar role. Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports. Skilled in welding and basic fabrication. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Preferred Experience working in the waste industry (landfills, transfer stations, hauling, recycling). CDL Class A or B (or willingness to obtain). Certifications such as ASE, Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician, or OEM training credentials. Familiarity with maintenance software (e.g., TMT, RTA, FleetFocus). Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform physically demanding work. Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments including heat, cold, dust, mud, and noise. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts if needed. Comfortable working in landfill and transfer station environments. Job Description: Job Summary A Volumetric Truck Operator is responsible for operating a volumetric concrete truck that is used fordelivering, mixing and pouring on-demand. The operator is also responsible for assisting with the loading process of sand and aggregate via a front-end loader, filling the water tank, and/or blowing cement from an onsite silo or trailer into the cement bin. Daily cleaning and greasing of the truck are required along with other preventative maintenance activities. In most circumstances you will be our company representative on site and should conduct yourself with courteous, professional and a safety orientated demeanor at all times. Duties and Job Expectations Delivery Tickets must be signed by the customer, retain the white tickets and give them to the plant manager. Operate mixer to produce concrete from sand, gravel, cement, and water. Adjusted slump must be approved by geo-tech representative and customer. (15 Gallon max of water) Assemble chutes and operate levers to release concrete per customer request. Clean truck after loading and after each delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck surfaces. Perform pre-trip and post-trip truck DOT inspections. Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or coolant and performing minor repairs. (As needed) Utilize Whip Around inspections to report repairs issues and maintenance problems. Drivers are expected to grease the trucks daily. Monitor truck and company equipment to ensure proper operation and professional appearance. Spray truck surfaces with protective compounds to resist concrete adhesion and for specialized cleaning. Operate equipment, such as truck mixer controls, CB radios, mobile phones, and global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with dispatch, supervisors, or other drivers. Follow all applicable state and federal regulations. Drive trucks to any weigh stations along routes before and after loading and in compliance with state regulations. Assist with various plant operations, maintenance and mechanical work as needed. Occasionally operate and other plant equipment. At the end of the day every truck is expected to be parked in the company lot with a full tank of fuel, full tank of DEF and clean. You are also required to fill out the daily fuel sheet and turn into the plant manager or nightly drop box. Employees are expected to report on time, in full uniform and have all required PPE.
