Emergency Medicine Physician
An Emergency Medicine Physician is needed to support a full-time coverage need in a critical access hospital setting. The role includes in-house emergency coverage with low patient volume and inpatient responsibilities.
Schedule & Coverage:
Minimum of 3 shifts per pay period
Primary shift length: 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 AM); occasional 12-hour shifts
In-house call with sleep room available
Multiple open shifts available from February through March
Practice Setting:
Critical Access Hospital
3-bed Emergency Department and 20 inpatient beds
Average ED volume: approximately 4 patients per day
Average inpatient census: approximately 4 patients (observation, acute, and swing bed)
Inpatient responsibilities included
EMR: Epic (TogetherCare)
Staffing & Support:
4 Advanced Practice Providers (no supervision required)
Nursing support: 2 RNs
Ancillary staff: 1 CNA per provider
Medical imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy services available
Clinical Responsibilities:
Emergency department coverage
Inpatient care management
No outreach responsibilities
Requirements & Qualifications:
Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or Family/Internal Medicine with recent emergency medicine experience
Active state medical license
Clean malpractice and background history
Current NPDB report required for submission
