Cardiovascular First Assist Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant locum tenens assignment in Hershey, Penn

Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting an experienced Cardiovascular First Assist Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time locum tenens assignment in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This is a true full-time opportunity supporting a high-acuity cardiovascular surgery program, with a mix of operating room first assist duties, clinic time, ICU coverage, and scheduled call.

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular First Assist Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for full-time locums coverage at either the Hershey or Holy site. This is not a PRN role-the client requires a consistent, full-time provider (36-40 hours per week) with call responsibilities. The ideal candidate has strong operating room experience, is EVH-capable, and is comfortable functioning across the OR, ICU, and clinic settings within a collaborative surgical team.

Assignment Details:

• Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania (or Holy site)
• Setting: Hospital-Based Cardiovascular Surgery Program
• Coverage Type: Full-Time Locums
• FTE: 1.0

Schedule:

• 36-40 hours per week
• Typically three 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM)
• Monday-Friday with call
• In-house during scheduled shifts

Call Expectations:

• Night call: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM
• Weekend call approximately every 5 weekends
• Weekend call runs Friday 6:00 PM through Monday 6:30 AM
• All call is taken from home (not in-house)

Responsibilities Include:

• OR first assist for cardiovascular surgery
• Endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)
• Scheduled clinic hours
• ICU and floor patient management as needed
• Participation in night and weekend call coverage
• Collaboration with surgeons, APPs, nursing, and ICU teams
