The CRS provides recovery support services within the clinic and community by providing outreach, hope, and encouragement to patients with complex addiction, behavioral, and psychosocial needs. Drawing on personal experiences with and knowledge of local recovery resources, the CRS acts as a resource to help patients navigate healthcare and community resources as directed by the patient's own recovery journey. The CRS motivates patients to engage and sustain engagement with the behavioral and addiction treatment system. The CRS works closely with Addiction Coordinators, clinicians, and research team members. This CRS position is part of a research study and will play a vital role in advancing knowledge about the impact of peer recovery support services on patient participation in medication treatment; no research experience is needed. Job Duties Assists in the outreach, engagement, and providing nonjudgmental support of patients receiving medication treatment for an opioid use disorder. Conducts regular meetings with patients and appropriately engages them to identify their interests, strengths, goals, aspirations and to help them develop and carry out a recovery plan while offering encouragement and empowerment through shared experiences. Engages patients by way of one-on-one visits in the clinic and community setting, phone, video, and text, and helps patients schedule and attend appointments as needed. Facilitates patient adherence to their treatment plan by early identification and resolution of barriers to care. Promotes patients' community integration through the connection of resources, linking to supports, mutual-help groups, social clubs, and volunteer and job opportunities. Communicates effectively in a culturally competent manner with a diverse patient population. Communicates all concerns to clinical team and manager as necessary, seeking support and guidance proactively. Acts as an advocate for patients during multidisciplinary treatment team conference, keeping the team informed about patients' strengths, accomplishments, and obstacles in relation to their recovery goals. Meets regularly with the research team and follows research protocols pertaining to documenting patient meetings. Completes documentation in a timely and accurate manner and tracks patient progress. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment and in community settings. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
