JOB SUMMARY The Worship Director will provide comprehensive leadership for the church's worship ministry, creating and implementing engaging, spiritually meaningful worship experiences. This role requires a deep commitment to musical excellence, theological integrity, and spiritual formation. Additionally this position will recruit, train and empower volunteers to create transformative worship experience that glorify God and engage the congregation. There is opportunity for the role to be customized somewhat to the specific giftings of the candidate - with availability (should they be interested) to also invest some hours in areas such as community outreach, small groups, preaching/teaching, etc. The Worship Director will report to the Lead Pastor. Qualifications and Requirements Professional Qualifications Previous experience leading worship in a similar church setting Significant vocal and instrumental proficiency (able to lead from guitar and/or keys) Demonstrated leadership and team management skills Spiritual Requirements Demonstrates a high-integrity lifestyle aligned with Biblical standards A lifestyle congruent with Biblical leadership qualifications (1 Timothy 3:1-13, 2 Timothy 2, Titus 1:5-9) Strong personal faith and spiritual maturity Technical Skills Familiar with church streaming and online video broadcasting Skilled in audio/visual technology Comfortable using worship planning/organization tools like Planning Center Core Responsibilities Volunteer Team Leadership Lead and develop worship team through: Strategic recruitment Comprehensive audition process Ongoing training and mentoring Regular team encouragement and spiritual care Pray consistently for and with team members Implement intentional team-building and care strategies Sunday Experience Oversight Manage all aspects of Sunday service coordination, including: Back of House operations Front of House coordination Announcement Team management Greeter team coordination Operational Responsibilities Direct weekly worship activities and rehearsals Schedule and lead team meetings and rehearsals Manage worship team budget Maintain sound, video, and lighting equipment Assist in video and media development as required Collaborative Ministry Collaborate with Kids and Student ministry directors and participate in Family Experience Sundays Support and enhance our LincolnwayOnline platform Regularly communicate with the Lead Pastor to ensure worship elements and sermon themes are aligned Participate in staff and leadership meetings Compensation and Benefits Salary depends upon experience. Zion Church Job Type: Full-Time Salary ($54,000-$60,000) Reports To: Director of Ministries Direct Reports: Children's Ministry Staff and Volunteers Position Overview The Kids Ministry Director provides leadership, vision, and oversight for all children's programming from Nursery through 5th Grade. This full-time role ensures a safe, engaging, and spiritually enriching environment where children can encounter God's love and grow in their faith. The Director is responsible for developing long-term strategies, building and equipping teams, partnering with families, and executing impactful weekly programs and special events. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a pastor's heart, strong organizational skills, and the ability to create fun, meaningful, and faith-forming experiences for children and their families. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Ministry Development Develop and implement the vision for Kids Ministry in alignment with the church's mission and values. Safety & Operations Establish and uphold safety and security protocols, including check-in/check-out systems, emergency procedures, and adherence to Safe Ministry Policy. Maintain accurate records (attendance, incidents, volunteer schedules, budgets). Ensure ministry spaces are safe, clean, and fully stocked with necessary supplies.
