JOB TITLE: Yard Attendant LOCATION: Santa Maria POSITION SUMMARY: The Yard Attendant is responsible for supporting the daily activities of the shop and yard area to help support the operations team. The position will maintain cleanliness of the shop and yard by clearing all debris, landscaping, washing, building & repairing all containers. A high emphasis is placed on teamwork and flexibility to adapt to the immediate department needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Maintain cleanliness of yard, including sweeping & picking up trash around the entire property including up against the fence and the entryway. Landscaping includes weeding and cutting grass. Perform daily equipment inspection of forklift and safely operate. Wash the interior and exterior of all containers, bins and lids. Assist in assembling carts and performing repairs on carts as needed. Work with the Shop team on sandblasting and minor repairs on assigned containers and bins. Responsible for the movement of containers within the yard, the loading and unloading of new and used containers. Responsible for monitoring the site's container inventory. Assist with washing of equipment. Inspection of fire extinguishers & ladders Assists team members in the completion of project work within the shop & yard. Assists drivers on routes as needed. Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
