Thoracic Surgery Locums Job in Virginia 24-Hour Call Specific Dates in January and February + TBD Ongoing 2026 Coverage Assignment
Coverage Dates :
January 16 starting at 5:00 p.m. January 19 ending at 7:00 a.m.
February 6 starting at 5:00 p.m. February 9 ending at 7:00 a.m.
Additional dates beyond February to follow once schedules are finalized
Shift Descriptions:
24-hour call, 7am-7am
Call ratio: as needed
Requirements:
Board certified
Must be licensed in Virginia
ACLS and BLS certifications
Provider must be local
Procedures include: Bronchoscopy, Robot-Assisted Thoracic Surgery, Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS), Navigational Bronchoscopy, Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Tube Thoracostomy, Tracheostomy, Pericardial Window, Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms, Mediastinoscopy, Segmentectomy, Lobectomy, Bilobectomy, Pneumonectomy, Thoracotomy, Decortication
Additional Areas of Care:
Achalasia / Advanced Lung Disease (COPD and Pulmonary Fibrosis)
Anti-Reflux Surgery / GERD
Barrett s Esophagitis /Chest Wall Tumors and Reconstruction
Diaphragm Plication / Diaphragmatic Hernias
Dysphagia / Esophageal Cancer
Lung Cancer / Lung Nodules
Mediastinal Masses / Mesothelioma
Pleural Effusion / Pneumothorax
Rib Fractures and Plating
Thoracic Outlet Syndrome / Thymomas
Tracheal Stenosis / Tracheostomy
Assignment Details:
Hospital-based, mostly acute care
Average number of cases per day: 2-3
EMR: Epic
Estimated credentialing timeframe: 120 days
