Assures compliance with the directives, policies, and applicable laws and regulations. Job Duties Supervises assigned personnel, assists with orientation and integration of new employees. Assists with addressing performance problems initiating the disciplinary process as appropriate. Supports Operations Manager in administrative responsibilities for the unit as delegated (i.e. performance appraisals, monitoring absenteeism, ordering supplies, scheduling 4 hour staffing, recruitment, and the hiring of potential candidates). Communicates pertinent information regarding patient care activities and operations to appropriate personnel. Participates in the formulation of Respiratory Care policies and goals as well as policies affecting other departments. Assures effective, efficient and cost-effective use of physical, financial and human resources. Monitors financial and statistical reports. Assists the in addressing system issues. Develops and maintains an effective liaison with physicians, patients, employees, other departmental managers and administrators. Provides feedback to staff or managers for professional practice issues, promoting evidence-based practices and research activities. Assists leadership team and operations manager with patient rounding. Follows up on incidents (patient, procedural and medication) occurring on assigned units. Assures proper documentation and follow through. Assists with resolution of patient and family concerns. Assumes responsibility for identifying processes or systems that could potentially lead to errors and adverse events and participates in problem resolution of those issues. Coordinates the education, implementation, and ongoing management of the department electronic communication systems including the billing, documentation, and electronic medical record systems. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
