Performs technical and specialized skills in the operation of a Magnetic Resonance (MRI) Scanner to produce high quality cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes, while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Performs a variety of routine and advanced MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) procedures in the presence of a strong magnetic field while monitoring and maintaining essential patient care and safety. - Educates patients regarding their procedure and maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for the patient throughout the exam. - Maintains accountability for timely and proper service to patients during unsupervised shifts. - Provides on-call coverage for MRI Section of Radiology. - Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the Radiant Care Connect EMR. - Cleans restocks and prepares rooms on a daily basis. - Provides excellent customer service. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or completion of a Radiologic Technology hospital certificate program. - NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire. - American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT-R) required within 6 months of employment. - NYS Injection Certification within 6 months of employment. If hired on or before September 13, 2021, a NYS Injection Certification is required by September 1, 2022. - BLS Certification within 6 months of employment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience. - ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging Certification. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to work various software applications. - Excellent customer service and communication skills.
