Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years related experience
  • License: Active SC or RD license (must be in hand before start)
  • Certifications:
    • CDCES - Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (Required)
    • BLS (Preferred)
    • Pump Training Preferred: Omnipod and/or Tandem
  • Education: BSN or RD with Master's Degree
  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted

Responsibilities
  • Maintain an independent schedule of patient visits (approx. 8 per day)
  • Provide comprehensive diabetes education to pediatric patients and caregivers
  • Support endocrinologists with care coordination and treatment planning
  • Conduct follow-up visits to monitor patient progress and adjust care plans
  • Educate families on insulin management, glucose monitoring, nutrition, and lifestyle habits
  • Maintain EMR documentation according to ADA, CMS, and institutional guidelines
  • Serve as an educational resource for staff on pediatric diabetes management
Additional Information
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • Scrubs: Brown (RD) or Royal Blue (RN)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required
  • Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
