Job Description: TRAK Machine Tools is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our Engineering team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting our Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers in the development of our cutting-edge CNC Machines. The intern will contribute to various aspects of the product lifecycle, learning about design, documentation, and engineering processes in a real-world manufacturing environment.

What you will be Doing:

  • Assist Mechanical Engineers in developing, designing, and documenting mechanical components and assemblies for CNC machines.
  • Work with engineers to create and modify 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Support the creation and updating of Bills of Materials (BOMs) for assemblies and kits.
  • Participate in the Engineering Change Request (ECR/ECN) process by updating 3D/2D drawings and related documentation.
  • Assist with the conversion of legacy CAD data from Solid Edge to SolidWorks.
  • Operate and maintain engineering's 3D printer to produce prototypes for design validation and testing.
  • Learn about various manufacturing processes and how they influence design decisions.
  • Participate in team meetings and design reviews to gain exposure to engineering discussions and decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recent graduate of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
  • Basic understanding or academic experience with SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn about SolidWorks PDM is a plus.
  • Fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and basic manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, assembly).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Eager to learn, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment





Compensation details: 18-20 Hourly Wage
