Qualifications and Requirements The Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities: Associates Degree in Nursing, required. Three or more years' nursing experience, preferred. Assisted living or home health care experience, preferred. Must be a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse in the state of employment, required Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate. Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to educate, train and supervise staff; meet with residents and their families to facilitate appropriate assessments and development of personalized care plans; utilize and train others on operational software for delivery of care documentation and record keeping; and communicate with other employees effectively. Is knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment. Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods of time. Ability to lift or carry up to thirty (30) pounds.
