LA ABOUT THE ROLE Amrize is hiring a full-time Diesel Mechanic for the Franklin Farms Project in Rayville, LA. This position will maintain and repair heavy construction, automotive, mechanical, and machinery equipment. WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH As directed and guided by the Operations Manager, the essential duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following: • Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures. Provide repair and maintenance to diesel and gasoline engines. Adjust and repair ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic and steering systems. • Maintain and repairs chassis, frames, and bodies. • Work with hoisting and jacking equipment, power tools, measuring instruments, gauges and meters. • Lubricate equipment, maintain and repair tires, batteries, brakes, and valves. • Perform shop functions such as maintenance scheduling, spare parts inventory control, making estimates of material, labor, and equipment requirements. • Maintain an effective system of communication with supervisors and customers. • Maintain a safe and clean work area. • Assist other mechanics as needed. • Have basic computer proficiency and good verbal and written communication skills. • Can work in a team atmosphere and learn new tasks. • Must be able to work unsupervised. • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • High School diploma or equivalent preferred • Must have a valid driver's license, Class A or B commercial driver's license preferred. • 3 years experience directly related to the duties or mechanics school graduate (Heavy equipment diesel engines and transmissions) • Requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions. • May be required to work long unpredictable hours. • Must be able to stand for long periods on varied surfaces. • Must be able to move freely, including the ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist. • Must be able to lift 100 pounds unassisted. Additional Requirements: • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
