INTRODUCTION:

The Bishop of Manchester is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular diocese entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.


Each position employed in the Diocesan Administration Building helps to extend the ministry of the Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the position description. All employees of the diocesan administration assist the Bishop of Manchester in serving the parishes, schools and institutions of the Catholic Church in New Hampshire.

This is a part-time position reporting to the Executive Director of Camping Services.


POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Development Director must be mission-driven, organized, and proactive in order to strengthen and expand the camps' philanthropic efforts.


The Development Director will lead fundraising initiatives, coordinate potential campaigns, and develop materials and programs to promote planned giving, including legacy gifts, IRA contributions, and other long-term opportunities that will sustain the camps' Catholic mission for generations to come.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Donor Portfolio and Campaign Support
  2. Research and prepare donor portfolios and briefing materials for the Executive Director
  3. Maintain and update prospective donor lists, assignments, and records
  4. Prepare donor proposals and customized outreach for individual campaign prospects
  5. Donor Engagement and Coordination
  6. Schedule donor visits, campus tours, and meetings with the Executive Director
  7. Support follow-up actions with donors and possible fundraising committee members
  8. Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop a long-term fundraising strategy and communications plan
  9. Gift Management and Donor Stewardship
  10. Track and record all donations, pledges, commitments, and gift agreements in the donor database
  11. Ensure timely and accurate donor acknowledgement and recognition
  12. Event Planning and Execution
  13. Plan and manage cultivation and campaign events
  14. Handle post-event follow-up and donor engagement touchpoints


ENVIRONMENT:

  1. Position is based in New Hampshire and requires travel to Camp Bernadette in Wolfeboro and Camp Fatima in Gilmanton Iron Works as needed.
  2. A hybrid arrangement with a combination of remote and on-site work is possible.
  3. On-site: Office or cubicle in clean, well-lit and environmentally comfortable area
  4. Frequent hand manipulation in the use of office equipment, processing paperwork, etc.
  5. Minimal physical activity such as twisting, bending, kneeling may be required.
Requirements:

This position requires the ability to:

  1. Ability to work a flexible, part-time schedule, which may include night and weekends
  2. Manage multiple tasks independently in a part-time capacity
  3. Travel to either camp property as needed
  4. Occasionally required to lift, carry or move up to ten pounds
  5. Minimal requirement to reach at or above shoulder level; occasionally reaching below shoulder level required
  6. Hand manipulation - equipment and controls, frequent; grasping and handling, occasional
  7. Mobility includes regular sitting, standing, and walking.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Two or more years of experience in development, fundraising, or nonprofit campaign coordination
  2. Experience with donor management systems (e.g., Little Green Light, Raiser's Edge, etc.) is preferred.
  3. Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  4. Event planning experience is preferred.
  5. Understanding of and alignment with the Catholic mission of the camps
