Job Description

Basic Position Function: The incumbent performs installation, repair, and maintenance of technical and physical security systems installed at US Embassy Moscow. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the security engineering staff of ESC Moscow. The contractor's work performance will be evaluated by the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of ESC Moscow. Major Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Weekly: Performs maintenance and emergency repairs on security systems and equipment used by Diplomatic Security (DS) in Mission Russia facilities: including vehicle barriers, forced entry ballistic resistant doors, locks, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, emergency notification, and metal and explosives detection. Quarterly: Assists security engineering staff with periodic maintenance and testing of security systems to ensure function, document results, and procure needed materials for future maintenance. As-needed: Assists security engineering staff in new security system installations. Performs other duties as assigned. Work Location: The work will be performed at Embassy Moscow. Office space and resources will be provided to support this position in the Controlled Access Area (CAA) office suite of the ESC. Security Clearance: The incumbent must possess an active, final, Top Secret security clearance. Qualifications Required: Incumbent must be 21 years of age or older, completed journeyman training in either the electrical or an electromechanical trade. Must have five years documented experience as a journeyman in an appropriate trade. Incumbent must know how to read electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings. Incumbent must be able to write clear reports and have a basic knowledge of computers. Physical Requirements: The incumbent must be able to perform physical labor and heavy lifting including equipment which may, upon occasion, include items up to 100 lbs. The work requires sufficient dexterity and mobility needed to perform electromechanical maintenance on fairly heavy devices. The incumbent must have a familiarity with basic hand tools and knowledge of and skill using basic electrical testing equipment such as a multi-meter. Supervisory Responsibility: The position is not supervisory. The contractor will work with minimal supervision provided by USG direct-hire personnel assigned to the ESC. Training: ESC will provide the incumbent with specific training necessary to enable him or her to fully perform the duties assigned to this position. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
