LOCATION: Sturgeon Bay
STANDARD HOURS: Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 11:00 am. Flexibility required to include other evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary.
STARTING RATE OF PAY: $17.58 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY
Facilities Assistant will respond to worksite maintenance requests as needed in order to maintain a safe and functional work site. Facilities Assistant will assist maintenance staff with the following general tasks: Custodial tasks as assigned, light duty painting, opening and closing the campus as needed during non-standard campus hours, maintain grounds by the operation of mowers and trimmers and snow removal equipment, assist with snow removal, delivery of donated materials to appropriate locations either on or off site campus and other light maintenance functions as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties may include, but are not limited to:
Open and close building and classrooms and provide campus security
Assist staff/students when emergencies arise.
General grounds maintenance.
General snow removal as needed.
Assist with custodial tasks.
Assist with the completion of light duty work orders
Delivery of donated materials and/or supplies to offsite locations
Load and unload equipment using a forklift.
Assist with or provide maintenance/repairs and classroom setup, when necessary, per requests received.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent
Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Districts standard insurance policy terms
Must be able to obtain forklift certification
Currently have, or the ability to obtain, forklift and aerial lift certification(s)
Ability to respond to afterhours emergency needs
An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years maintenance and/or building and grounds maintenance experience desirable

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Mobility: Ability to move around the campus to attend meetings and events. In addition, must be able to work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment and machinery. May be required to work from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding.
Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment, tools, controls, and/or heavy equipment and machinery. Capability to push, pull, and/or maneuver equipment as needed.
PPE: To wear and work in personnel protective equipment as needed
Heavy Lifting: Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Visual and Auditory: Ability to read documents and communicate effectively with students and staff.
