Job Description Title: Reliability Manager Department: Engineering Reports To: Engineering Manager Position Location: Gramercy, LA FLSA Status: Exempt Effective Date: 12/11/2022 Job Summary/Objective This role will lead the planning and execution of the plant reliability organization. Driving operational excellence, developing and implementing strategies to increase equipment reliability and effectiveness, and enhancing our capabilities are critical outcomes for this role. Essential Functions Develop and implement strategies that accelerate and improve current practices and processes to improve equipment performance, reliability and lower repair costs. Leverage company subject matter experience/experts to advance current reliability efforts. Develop and deliver comprehensive reliability tactical training to operational and maintenance resources. Identify required equipment and process upgrades and effectively manage associated projects. Represent the company's interest through interaction with outside shops when work is sent out for fabrication and/or repair. Provide leadership in a Lean Manufacturing environment; consistently driving out waste. Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure operational effectiveness and life cycle cost considerations. Lead the Reliability team with a commitment for their development through performance management, individualized development plans/opportunities, and visibility. Implement and oversee the following predictive programs: vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, lubrication, root cause failure analysis, and N.D.E. programs. Establish maintain, and leverage value from a computerized maintenance management system (SAP) for tracking work orders, planned/predictive maintenance, spare parts inventory/sharing, and maintenance history of plant equipment on a facility wide basis. Analyze operational data and equipment performance history to deliver improvements in critical maintenance related metrics including: unplanned downtime, PM compliance, schedule compliance, and maintenance related costs. Initiate, implement, and oversee the plant reliability program based on best practices, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling, preventive/predictive maintenance, and safety, health & environmental policies and procedures. Provides leadership for troubleshooting and conduct root cause failure analysis. Accountable for compliance with all Atalco Gramercy Policies, including HSE and governmental requirements. Model safe behavior; enforce safety rules; promote safety culture. Assure issues are resolved in a timely manner to minimize impacts. Key Competencies Solid organizational skills Strong interpersonal skills Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively, and to direct and motivate others. Required Qualifications Ten plus years of management and leadership experience in engineering, maintenance, and/or operational roles with a focus in reliability management. 5 plus years working in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably a refinery environment. Must understand the following predictive programs: vibration and oil analysis, thermography, and N.D.T. inspection of ASME pressure vessels. Knowledge of pipe fabrication and repair techniques. Education Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution required; graduate degree from an accredited institution in relevant area is a plus. Work Environment Outside in a heavy manufacturing dirty environment. Subject to weather impact - heat, cold, rain, sleet. Physical Demands Prolonged standing in the units.
