General Description / Primary Purpose:
This is work performing grounds maintenance and landscape installation duties including but not restricted to maintenance of turf, landscape, and irrigation; litter control; and set up for special events. Specific duties will be determined by the supervisor.
Job Function:
95% 1) Mowing 2) Weed-eating, edging asphalt and cement surfaces 3) Plant bed maintenance 4) Equipment/shop maintenance 5) Landscape construction This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed.
Marginal Functions:
5% Special projects/events. a) participate in special event set ups and other work; b) assist with campus maintenance emergencies; c) assist with new utilities installation and maintenance of existing utilities; d) manages work orders; e) possesses the ability to pound metal stakes into the ground with a sledge hammer and lift heavy tent poles into place; f) raking leaves; g) prescribed burning.

Close supervision. The incumbent's work is reviewed by the supervisor for accuracy and to ensure instructions are being followed.
Required QualificationsNature of Work: This is work providing services to help keep the campus maintained in a suitable manner.Required Qualifications: Completion of ninth (9th) grade required; HS Diploma preferred. Some positions may require possession of a classified driver's license appropriate to a type of vehicle operated
