Position Summary:



This position is responsible for inspection, review and ensuring compliance of product specifications during production operations of all products and areas including but not limited to meat, labeling, weights and packaging labeling.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Check product against specifications during production process which includes product labels, packaging weights and product ingredients in all departments
  • In the event the incumbent is needed to provide coverage on 2 nd shift, he/she will provide coverage (1:30pm - 12:00am)
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections (start time of 4:45am), including equipment and production areas for cleanliness
  • Check room and product temperature, administer PH test, and check ingredient label/statement for BBQ sauce
  • Check incoming and outgoing products for total spec compliance
  • Monitor areas and personal for GMP compliance
  • Other assignments as requested
  • Must be dependable and come to work daily
  • Raw finished product inspection
  • Fat inspection/monitoring
  • Metal detector verification
  • Scale calibration verification
  • Injection/Seasoning/Marination monitoring
  • BBQ sauce verification
  • Barcode verification
  • Meat to Sauce ratio check
  • RTE Finish Product inspection
  • Monthly product sampling
  • Environmental sampling
  • Air test
  • Water sampling
  • Assists with production paperwork review
  • Review, update and maintain Hold and Release summary logs
  • Swab sampling site selection
  • Swab preparation and sampling
  • Allergen swab sampling
  • Media Preparation
  • Daily Micro Counting

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Experience: High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years in a quality function in the food industry


Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Basic to Intermediate skills in MS Office applications (Excel and Word)
  • Ability to work independently or in project team environment and within a defined deadline
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to lift 45 - 50 lbs., in order to check product weights
  • Ability to work in a cold environment for about 80% of the time
  • Ability to stand and walk for about 80% of the time
  • Ability to push and/or pull with about 10 lbs. of force in order to handle product and computer cart
  • Prior experience in the food industry preferred

Pay range for this position is $20 to $23/hour depending on experience.
