Scope of Position
The Department of Marketing, Communications and Digital Strategy is responsible for the overall brand management and communications and marketing activities of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC - James), and the College of Medicine. This senior marketing consultant position sits within the Growth Marketing and Reputation Strategy Team and is dedicated to fostering engagement with the donor audience relating to the strategic goals of Team Buckeye and Pelotonia, as well as James Development initiatives at the OSUCCC - James.
Position Summary
The Senior Marketing Consultant is a relationship builder, leveraging marketing expertise to drive impactful donor engagement. The position partners closely with development teams, cancer program leaders and cross-functional colleagues to craft and execute integrated marketing strategies that grow awareness, engagement and philanthropic support for the OSUCCC - James. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring communication and marketing initiatives to support assigned areas. This role involves creating and executing marketing and communications plans to align with the strategic and financial objectives for Team Buckeye and Pelotonia, as well as development events within the OSUCCC - James.
The ideal candidate thrives in a highly matrixed environment, adeptly managing multiple projects and forging trusted connections with diverse partners. They are agile, innovative, and committed to delivering measurable results through creative use of owned and paid media, event activation, storytelling, and marketing campaigns that elevate donor participation and impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for leading the implementation, execution and monitoring of internal and external marketing and communications plans and tactics related to Team Buckeye and Pelotonia and James Development marketing initiatives. Strong organizational and execution abilities to effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects at a time. Creates and maintains strong relationships with all partners. Manage and research all aspects of each project, shares information accurately and promptly. Strong writing skills with attention to detail are essential in this role.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of professional marketing and communications experience, as well as: excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills; strong problem-solving abilities; superior organizational skills; an ability to manage varied projects and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, adapting quickly to shifting priorities and continuous change. The senior marketing consultant must demonstrate discretion regarding confidential matters, maintain a highly professional demeanor and be available to occasionally work after hours upon request.
