Primary Purpose of the OrganizationThe Division of Facilities Management functions are to design, construct, maintain and operate the physical facilities of the University. The number one objective of the department is to provide and maintain facilities that will enhance and support the mission and academic goals of the University. Our approach is centered upon providing a superior level of customer service.
Primary Purpose of the PositionThe primary purpose of this position is to ensure the proper upkeep and maintenance of university facilities through a combination of skilled carpentry, painting, moving services, leadership, and safety management. This role encompasses a variety of tasks, including overseeing and guiding work teams, ensuring safety compliance, and performing specialized maintenance duties as needed to support the university's operational needs. The position is essential in maintaining the functionality and aesthetic integrity of the campus, contributing to a safe and efficient environment for all staff, students, and visitors.
Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsCustomer Service- Ability to insist on providing high quality service for internal and external customers. Demonstrates customer focus by seeking out, understanding, and responding to the needs of both internal and external customers. Responds to customer's needs, questions, and concerns in an accurate, effective, and timely manner.
Knowledge-Technical- Advises staff of specialized grounds maintenance techniques and processes for use In unusual. General knowledge of established Trade procedures and techniques, and special applications required in assigned areas. Ability to follow a daily work schedule and react to situations requiring minor adjustments to routine.
Dependability/Attendance- Ability to demonstrate dependability, which requires daily attendance. Ability to report to work daily, for a full shift, at an appropriate time. Ability to submit leave request at least 5 days in advanced as much as possible.
Communication- Conveys information clearly, confidently, and with proper tone. Ability to develop and deliver written information to individuals or groups to ensure that they understand the message
Planning/Organizing- Ability to follow the daily work schedule by prioritizing the needs of the organization and implementing procedures to ensure that the tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
