Job Position: Assistant Cook
Location:Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462
Pay Rate: $21.00/hr
Shift: Sunday- Thursday 25-30 hours per week
Sunday - 10:30am - 7pm (cook duties)
Wednesday - 12:30pm - 7pm (cook duties)
Thursday - 10:30am - 7pm (Utility/Dietary Aide)
Friday - 10:30am - 7pm (Utility/Dietary Aide)
Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Part-Time Assistant Cook to join our school kitchen team. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for food service in an educational environment, who can support meal preparation and maintain a clean, organized kitchen. This is a temp-to-hire role with the potential for a long-term position based on performance and school needs. Employer paid clearances and Valid drivers license required .

Key Responsibilities:
Assist the lead cook in preparing and serving meals according to school and nutrition guidelines
Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing kitchen equipment
Help with inventory control by checking and storing food items properly
Follow food safety protocols to ensure all meals are prepared safely and hygienically
Assist in the setup and cleanup of kitchen areas
Ensure timely meal preparation to support the school's lunch and breakfast schedules
Requirements:
Previous experience in a food service role, preferably in a school or cafeteria setting
Knowledge of basic food handling and preparation
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with kitchen staff
Flexibility to work part-time hours, with potential for additional hours during peak periods
Must pass a background check as required for school employees
Preferred Qualifications:
Food handler certification or willingness to obtain one
Experience working in a team-oriented environment
Enthusiasm for working with children and being part of a school community
