Permitting Man a ger - Renewable Energy (Development)

Department: Development / Permitting

Role Purpose:
We are seeking a Permitting Man a ger to support the execution of renewable energy projects by coordinating, submitting , tracking, and managing all necessary permits for the development o f project . Thi s includes local, state, and federal permits (e.g., grading, electrical, environmental, right-of-way, and interconnection) . This role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with regulatory frameworks and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external consultants, permitting authorities, and stakeholders. This r ole is part of a global team working toward common goals. We operate as one company, across all locations, with shared responsibility and clear accountability

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify all permitting requirements , environmental, land use, construction, interconnection, etc.) at local, state, and federal levels for each project.
  • Prepare, submit , and track permit applications for renewable energy projects, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Facilitate communication between engineering, development, and permitting teams to gather required technical documentation and respond to agency requests.
  • Liaise with local, state, and federal agencies to understand permitting requirements and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Review project documents-including site plans, studies, and environmental reports-to ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and policies.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of permit statuses, project milestones, and agency communications within CRM or project management systems.
  • Monitor and update internal teams on evolving permitting requirements, industry trends, and regulatory changes relevant to project development.
  • Support due diligence, public meetings, and community engagement activities as needed for project approvals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with municipal staff, planning departments, and external consultants.
  • Troubleshoot permitting challenges, address corrections or deficiencies, and proactively prevent repeated rejections.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement by recommending and implementing changes to increase permitting efficiency.
  • Contribute to risk assessments by identifying permitting delays or challenges that may impact project schedules.
  • Take full ownership of your tasks and deliverables.
  • Align your work with company-wide priorities and goals.
  • Foster collaboration and accountability across internal teams and in other offices and ensure alignment with company objectives .

Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science , Urban Planning, Engineering, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Additional training in project management, permitting processes, or relevant regulatory frameworks preferred.
  • Familiarity with permit tracking systems, CRM software, and document management platforms is advantageous .
Experience & Technical Skills:
  • 2-4 years of experience in permitting project coordination, environmental compliance, or related fields-preferably within renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting requirements for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, or storage).
  • Experience preparing technical documents, permit applications, and supporting documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination with regulators and internal stakeholders.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable navigating cloud-based document management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing regulatory landscapes.
