Overview
The MPL Reliability Engineer is responsible for:
Supporting special projects and assignments
Managing the integrity and operations of LPG storage caverns
Ensuring compliance across MPL's Process Safety Management (PSM) facilities
This position reports to the MPL Reliability Engineering Director, and interacts with MPL Operations, MPL Process Groups, Logistics and Storage Engineering, MPC Refining, Logistics and Storage Global Marine, external contractors, industry peers, regulatory agencies, and technical groups.
Responsibilities

Special Projects and Assignments
1. Participate in industry work groups to develop guidelines and standards for applicable projects
2. Support the development and implementation of scope and technology to meet requirements associated with key initiatives such as California Air Resources Board At-Berth Regulation, Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR), and Commercial Harbor Craft (CHC) Regulation(s)
3. Serve as the efficiency champion for the Reliability Engineering department, providing guidance and support to process leaders for ideas submitted through the L&S Opportunity Tracker
4. Interact with external stakeholders and internal business partners to support state-funded grant opportunities
LPG Storage Cavern Process Leader
1. Manage the integrity programs for LPG storage caverns
2. Provide technical support and guidance during cavern workovers and cavern inspections Ensure cavern operations and processes adhere to industry standards and best practices
3. Develop and maintain budgets for cavern projects
4. Process Safety Management Element Owner
Ensure MPL PSM Mechanical Integrity (MI) and Process Safety Information (PIS) programs remain in compliance with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP:
1. Support Operations in their adherence to MPL's MI and PSI programs
2. Participate in PSM related audits, Process Hazard Analysis, and What-If exercises
3. Provide technical support through the Management of Change (MOC) process
Position Requirements
Education: B.S. in Engineering Degree (Mechanical Preferred).
Experience: Minimum 5 years within related field
Grade - 12, 13
