Office of the Inspector General Business Manager II Posting Expires: September 17, 2025 Salary: $74,000 - $80,000/annually General Description The City of Atlanta Office of the Inspector General (OIG) seeks to ensure the integrity of city operations, good stewardship of public resources, and the prevention of conduct that undermines public trust in government. In furtherance of this mission, the OIG is seeking a Business Manager responsible for providing administrative, operational, and analytical support for the office. The OIG is an independent agency that reports to the Governing Board of the Office of the Inspector General and the Ethics Office, which is composed of seven City residents selected by business, civic, educational, and legal organizations. Supervision Received Work under supervision and report to the Inspector General, Deputy Inspector General, and Assistant Inspector General. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist with procurement, budgeting, and expense tracking in accordance with government policies.o Prepare and process requisitions, invoices, and purchase orders o Prepare procurement documentation o Order supplies Monitor workflow and support process improvements to enhance efficiency. Manage ticket requests and follow up with other departments such as IT and maintenance. Maintain and organize files, records, and confidential information in compliance with government regulations. Craft internal administrative policies and procedures. Track deadlines, projects, and deliverables to ensure timely completion. Prepare materials for Board meetings. Answer telephone and receive office visitors; screen and prioritize communications, ensuring timely responses to critical matters. Handle office correspondence. Perform timekeeping functions. Plan, organize, and facilitate internal and external meetings, hearings, and public events. Prepare meeting agendas, materials, and minutes. Ensure the Department Head is fully briefed prior to engagements. Generate details for reported performance metrics. Manage the calendar for department leadership, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements. Serve as the first point of contact for inquiries directed to the Department Head. Draft professional correspondence, talking points, and briefing materials. Perform special projects as requested. Preserve confidentiality of sensitive and protected information.Decision Making Work under minimal supervision; use independent judgment and discretion; work with others to complete assigned tasks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and document management systems.Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited college; Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible administrative support experience.Preferred Qualifications - Education and Experience Progressively responsible administrative support experience with at least 2 years supporting senior-level executives or public officials. Prior government, legal, or nonprofit sector experience strongly preferred. Work Environment & Physical Demands Standard office environment with a primarily in-office work schedule; telework available on a limited, as-needed basis. Ability to sit, stand, and use standard office equipment for extended periods. May require occasional local travel for meetings, events, or trainings.
