Job Description

Quality Technician Our client has been a trusted source of electronic manufacturing services for five decades, is a comprehensive contract manufacturer serving a broad range of industries. As a solutions provider with expertise in PCB layout and design, PCB assembly, and upper-level chassis, control panels, and cable & harness assembly, they manufacture products using LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. They are certified to AS9100D and ITAR Compliant and operators are certified to IPC-610, IPC-620 and J-STD. 8 hour shift with flexible start between 7:00 am - 8:00 am and end between 3:30pm - 4:30pm Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Provides feedback and continually improves functions and processes throughout the production environment. • Supports efforts in reducing defects while controlling cost • Approaches all tasks with a focus on safety • Supports internal and external customers with quality issues • Interfaces with personnel to ensure customer expectations related to quality are being appropriately addressed. • Employs problem solving tactics & tools as part of everyday activity • Provides hands on support relative to quality issues, error proofing opportunities • Ability to identify quality related trends • Maintains and updates Quality System controlled documents • Contributes to RCCA activities • Perform PPAP, FMEA, FAIR, Control plans as needed • Support systems/processes that the Quality department oversees or interfaces with such as: • QMS, including QMS/POC for ISO 9001, ISO13485, and AS9100 • Customer Complaints • Nonconforming Material Reports • Incoming Inspection • Reporting Quality metrics using an appropriate tool such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab, etc Knowledge and Skill Requirements • Ability to communicate with others at all levels • Strong attention to detail • Strong organizational skills • Ability to work independently and complete tasks within specified timeframe • Knowledge and hands on experience in Quality principles, practices, tools and techniques preferred. • Strong written and oral communication skills • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes & procedures Computer Skills • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. • Ability to manipulate, interpret, and present data Education and/or Experience • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quality role or Electronics Manufacturing experience preferred. • IPC 610/620 certified or become certified within an agreed upon time frame. • Process knowledge in printed circuit board and/or mechanical assemblies is highly desirable • Minimum experience will be assessed on a case-by-case basis • Commitment to continuing education related to Quality/Continuous Improvement. • Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds.
